Wallpaper in new tab

Can we have the opportunity to add a wallpaper in the new tab view? Like chrome or edge, that you can upload a picture and use it as a background in the new tab.

@FlappersYou can change both light/dark theme colors of new tabs using Adaptive tab color extension. There are options for it, if you look into it's settings.

Just a question as to why we can't have a new wallpaper on every new tab that is started up. This is done on Floorp which is made from Firefox and works great but we can't do it on actual Firefox. Why? If it can be done there it can be done here. In Floorp it works great and it changes automatically when a new tab is started. I have a folder selected in settings with a stack of wallpapers and it picks one from there. I think this setting could be obtained from Floorp as it is no longer closed source.

If the wallpaper changes dynamically smoothly when the user changes the dark or light mode, they will look better and more beautiful. So, I suggest creating two variations of the same wallpaper for a dark and light theme.

For example, to make two options for a photo (wallpaper) of a fox, you can generate a day and night variation of the same frame using artificial intelligence.

You can determine which wallpaper option should be shown to the user (for dark or light mode) from the system settings.

It would also be great to be able to add your own wallpapers. For custom wallpapers, of course, dynamic modification is not applied.

For Android, I would like to see new wallpapers. It would be ideal if it were possible to synchronize the installed wallpaper using an account.

It would be good to have like Chrome which dynamically changes the new tab page and theme to match the wallpaper in use on system.
It's named 'UI Refresh 2023' in Chrome, similar to 'Material' theme on Android.

Ability to change your homepage background

Many Firefox users, including myself, would like more customization options. Specifically, I would like to be able to change the homepage background while keeping the Firefox icon, shortcut, search, news feed, and saved web pages. I want to be able to upload a custom image or use a color as the homepage background while retaining these elements. A lot of us would appreciate having more customization features, including the ability for other people to upload homepage backgrounds through the Mozilla Firefox add-ons.

Hey all, wanted to jump in this thread with an update from the team working on this feature...particularly about being able to upload your own images. This is really good feedback and it is definitely a request that has been noted and discussed internally - especially as the team continues to iterate on the feature. There is no scheduled release date for background uploads but improving personalization is a high level priority for us. We'll share more updates as they become available.

Why hasn't firefox provided this option years ago? I can't think of any legit excuse why they haven't as so many other browsers have years ago. I haven't waited around for the powers to be in their ivory towers to finally decide maybe it's a good idea after all. And still nothing, talk, but no action.  I created a CSS file so I could customize my firefox homepage. But I should've not had to. If it wasn't for a couple features that I like about firefox I would've left firefox a long time ago.
