Tab volume control

Good morning, I would like to provide an idea for a future update of firefox, add a volume control panel / skip songs that are in any of the browser tabs.

I would also like to have an option to add a shortcut “as an application” on the desktop (which is not really an application, but as a shortcut to the web).

Thank you very much!!!

Please add the convenience for user to disable or remove such a icon with limited use in laptop. And it disadvantage it brings is , once if you have open multiple tabs, the tab button will be sqeeze in very limited small space, any click on the tab will highly possible to mute/unmute the sounds from that page!!!!

this is really not a friendly design if an user cannot easily disable its function or remove it per preference and individual usage habbits.

Why hasn't this been done yet? I've tried 4 different extensions that claim to do this, but none of them work. The concept works fine in Chrome.

Some websites are WAY too loud compared to others (thai-language.com is a big example), and it's annoying to have to constantly adjust the system volume as I go back and forth between an overly loud website and a normal one.

I really need this so I can come back to Firefox... I check this thread from time to time to see if we have any news on this one, but not being able to control tab volume is the only reason I (unfortunately) have to stay on Chrome, due to how my job works it's impossible to not have this feature.

Per Tab Volume Control

Idea:

It would be useful if Firefox allowed users to change the volume of each tab, similar to how Windows Volume Mixer works.

Show this would work:

  • It allows users to change the volume of each tab
  • By right clicking on a tab that is playing sound you can adjust the volume of it with a volume slider bar
  • The design can be similar to the Discord per-user Volume sliders (attached below) in Voice chat, making it familiar to many users and easy to use

How this would help:

  • With noisy tabs, Instead of just muting them , the users can just reduce their volume to still be able to hear them
  • It allows for better multitasking for example, being in a video call with music at a lower volume
  • And this allows for more options than the windows volume mixer does because users can control volume per tab instead of for the whole program.
  • Firefox already has an audio indicator so instead of clicking it to mute it could show a volume control slider.
