Many users find this popup incredibly annoying, especially when attempting to browse and download multiple images in quick succession as it takes up a quarter of the screen. Scrolling down makes it go away but dare to scroll up (say, to search something else) it's back again. Closing every individual pop-up is just tedious. All methods to permanently disable it are desktop only, they all use about:config, which android Firefox does not have.

I stopped using firefox for android because of this more than a year ago... interesting to see this problem still being debated.

Why is there a screen occluding pop-up in addition to the standard notification? Also, why was it implemented with no way to disable it? If I understand open-source, does that make it possible to fork with just this feature removed? (assuming i can still side load on android by that time) I'm not even sure why someone took the time to build it in. If someone was donating their time and added this feature, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so harsh. Good job! Thanks for contributing! However, if this is a for-profit business decision like the rest of the Internet's decaying UX, then I wasn't harsh enough.

Now that I've realized I can swipe right to dismiss the notification instantly, I was able to settle down since my prior post and think like a rational monkey again. Scrolling down, like Tetranymous mentioned earlier, didn't seem to work for me. I tried every way I could think of to dismiss the notification, failed to try SWIPING RIGHT apparently, and have been watching it take forty two years to time out. I don't know what kind of interface help would have gotten me here sooner, but that's all it took: Swipe right to dismiss each and every notification. Not perfect, but I still love open source!
