Thunderbird needs a fix! Make emails open with a single click! This double-click is old fashion and a waste of time.

I have been a user and active financial supporter of Thunderbird for nearly a decade. But there are some lacking basic features that make me set it aside from time to time. My #1 gripe is having to double-click on an email to open it. Surely, this isn't a favorite way of opening emails, is it? If Mozilla doesn't want to make a change in the build, why not an extension or an add-on that would allow the single click? There are add-ons for so many things; isn't this possible? 😅
