Can you please add in Thunderbird application\Settings, a reference to each email account created in the application, the reference would be retrieved systematically from the Thunderbird folder in C\
Example:
In case a user has multiple Gmail accounts, each would actually bear a code number (e.g. imap.gmail-1.com, imap.gmail-2.com...) in: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\zg2snic9.default\ImapMail. Currently this code number cannot be linked to its specific account in the Thunderbird application.
If this recommendation is implemented and in case an email account has to be reinstalled/reinitiated; instead of downloading all its emails and all of the other emails of the several emails accounts present in the Thunderbird application, the related folder can be replaced from a backup that is kept aside previously.
The procedure would be:
1- Keeping periodically a backup of Thunderbird, renamed for instance "Thunderbird yyyy/mmm/dd"
2- Having 3 Gmail accounts named Mike (A), Mike (B) & Mike (C), Yahoo accounts & Hotmail accounts for example, of which Mike (A) is linked to imap.gmail-1.com, and in case Mike's (A) account in Thunderbird application is corrupted, the user goes to Thunderbird application/Settings/Mike (A) account and retrieve the reference code of Mike (A) (being imap.gmail-1.com), copy the folder imap.gmail-1.com from the backup and replaces it in the Thunderbird folder in C\:
That would enable the user to retrieve all the emails spontaneously without download (to a couple of days difference depending on the backup date) instead of copying the "Profiles" folder from the backup and overwriting the current "Profiles" folder in the Thunderbird application, hence avoiding the download of a much greater quantity of emails pertaining to Mike(A) and also to the several email accounts in the Thunderbird application.
I hope the above is clear enough and to the point,
I thank you in advance for your consideration,
N.B.
