MacOS features a fantastic system-wide text replacement feature which makes inputting common words and phrases (like an email address) very simple.

It'd be fantastic if Firefox could be updated to take advantage of Text Replacement to provide a more seamless MacOS experience

it tried using text replacement a few times in firefox a while ago and i thought it was working and then it seemed to be very hit and miss.

the URL field is a place i use text replacement a lot. firstly for urls for frequently used but had to prompt addresses, such as YouTube playlists which you can’t type the start of and hit tab.

i also use the URL field in Safari as a notepad for text replacements so i can copy-paste the result into fields that won’t let text replacement do what it is supposed to (email fields etc).

so i anybody at Omzilla is listening, thank you but please understand that adding your URL field is a no brainer now you have the API enabled.
