I've been playing around with splitView for a few days now, and it's in an excellent state for a brand new feature, but there are some friction points that could do with some quality of life massages to really shine as a browser feature.

Say for the sake of argument I have two websites that I frequent in tandem; let's call them MisinformedShoelaces.com and Wikipedia.org. The process for opening a split View of both from scratch is currently

  1. Open New tab
  2. Navigate to MisinformedShoelaces.com
  3. Open New Tab
  4. Navigate to Wikipedia.org
  5. MB2 @ MisinformedShoelaces.com
  6. Add SplitView
  7. Select Wikipedia.org from new SplitView menu

If I am visiting both sites in tandem regularly, this is a lot of input friction. Being able to create a bookmark for the splitView of MisinformedShoelaces.com|Wikipedia.org would completely eliminate the friction turning the seven-step process into a single ^Click.

In the  meantime, you can save SplitView as a Group.

1. Open site 1 in first tab.
2. Open site 2 in second tab.
3. Ctrl+click the first tab to select both.
4. Right-click > Open in Split view.
5. Ctrl+click the second tab to re-select it.
6. Add tabs to New Group.
7. Create a name < Click [Done].

You just need to remember not to close tabs within the group later. Either:

- Right-click > Save and close group; or:
- Close the browser

Once you want to reopen your SplitView group, simply type its name in the address bar and click on [Open (name of the group)]. No new tab necessary.
