Brave for android allows to replace the Google search bar at the bottom of the Pixel launcher. This feature is missing on Firefox for Android. As I changed phone and now own a Google pixel I had to change browser because of this, so it would be a major feature to include for me

Not sure if I fully understand this post, but if it's advocating for way to replace the Google search bar with a Firefox one, then yes!

Even better, why not go a step further and make a Firefox launcher that makes the whole Android experience better with Firefox?? It would kinda be like FirefoxOS reborn maybe? 🤩 We definitely need something like this cuz I really want Firefox more integrated and well designed into my computing experience. 😁

@onequest basically if you’re in the EU pixel launcher allows to replace the google search bar with another one. However, the only browser that supports this is Brave, others are just web engine apps such as “Bing” or “Ecosia”. If Brave can do it, Firefox can too.

@onequest Basically in the EU you can replace the bottom search bar of the Pixel launcher with another search engine, if you have the corresponding app installed. For example if you download “Bing” you can set a Bing search bar. However, Brave (the browser) allows to set itself as a search bar. So I was thinking this might be possible for Firefox too.
