Status: New idea

Hello Team,

after a reinstallation of Windows (or changin the PC) you also have to set up Thunderbird again completely new (accounts, settings ecc.). It would be nice if you could export all this to a file that you can import again later.

Thanks U.

Hello, you can use Mozbackup : https://sourceforge.net/projects/mozbackup/

Hello PTL,

thanks for this idea. I've done a look, but seams that MozBackup isnt anymore updated since years.

Ive heard about "Simple Firefox Backup" but that, I suppose, only does a backup of Firefox Browser.

Have a nice day 😉

Hi,

you can export all to a .zip file using the menu Extra --> Export

The problem for me: my profile folder is greater than 2GB and I only want to export my account settings and passwords to use it on a second computer. There is no (comforable) way only to export this.

It would be great if the user can choose via some checkboxes, what exactly to export.

@Juppen,

If your desire is "accounts, messages, address books, settings:
Thunderbird's "Tools" -> "Export" is easy.

If you want to back up everything completely, the following FAQ is the basics:
