Status: New idea

Right now, we can only open individual tabs from others. If I want to open all the tabs from my smartphone on my laptop, it's not doable. Following options will be very much convenient if it would be added.

  • Open all tabs from another device
  • transfer all tabs from another device
  • close a tab on another device
  • transfer a tab from another device

@Elwero  - brilliant, thanks a lot, no amount of GPT was helpful... Mozilla should ensure, since this is technically already achievable, to simply expose this option on the new sidebar.

@Elwero +1 Thank you so much!

This, please! For the folks who get a new phone and just want an easy way to get our browser and tabs on it so the transition is smoother and less awful.

Please give us this feature for the android app

They are ruining the browser, by removing  several simple features/functions, like OPEN ALL TABS & SHARE ALL TABS.

Beyond frustrating!

Mozilla keeps saying to create account and sync device.
Now that i sync and reformatted my PC. My tabs shows up as another device and there is no option to open all tabs from the other device! What is the point of the account then!

I just created an account to support this idea, is a pain having to migrate my hundreds of tabs whenever I change devices, good thing is only once every 3 years

Still waiting...

I get the impression that there is the wish to patronize users into having less open tabs. I get that there are benefits from that, but please let us choose our own doom and let me transfer my 650 tabs to a new phone with one click.

Injusto gabe up on Firefox , both for my phone and laptop. Switching to Opera.

The select all tabs issue. plus the open all tabs issue, and now, after the latest 150.0 release on my Linux laptop crashing all the time, in all shapes and forms, I just gave up.

Trying to get support here (plus on bugzilla and Mozilla support) for months. And I notice that some users have been trying since last year (the messy thing is that people experience those issues with different versions and updates, varying on time).

Really frustrated with Mozilla, I have been an internet user since 1997, and never experienced such a horrible situation).

PROBABLE SOLUTION: get ai to make you a small app to record your mouse clicks.

then click History > Synced Tabs > click the first tab on the list

then replay that as fast as you can in a way that still works. workaround for Open all.

not sharing code cos idk how to so idk what is secure etc but that's my solution I am working on rn

here is my prompt though. modify it to your system requirements / feel free to lmk a better design and for all those who find their way here.

Build a very simple native macOS app (preferably Swift + SwiftUI) for recording and replaying mouse/keyboard macros.

Core idea:

  • I want to press a big obvious “Record” button.
  • The app should show a very clear recording state visually (for example: red border, flashing REC text, countdown overlay, etc).
  • After pressing Record, show a short countdown like:
    3…
    2…
    1…
    Then begin recording.

Recording behavior:

  • Record:
    • Mouse movement
    • Mouse clicks
    • Scrolls
    • Keyboard presses (optional but preferred)
  • The recording should start from wherever my mouse currently is after the countdown.
  • I want the app to “learn” my actions naturally by demonstration, without manually entering coordinates.

Playback behavior:

  • I want a “Play” button.
  • Playback should be able to run faster than human speed.
  • Include a playback speed multiplier slider:
    • 0.5x
    • 1x
    • 2x
    • 5x
    • 10x
  • Timing between actions should scale accordingly.

Safety / interruption:

  • VERY IMPORTANT:
    • Pressing Escape should instantly stop:
      • recording
      • playback
  • Ideally pressing ANY key could optionally interrupt playback too.
  • Stopping should be immediate, including stopping mouse movement mid-macro.

UI requirements:

  • Extremely simple UI.
  • Large obvious buttons:
    • Record
    • Stop
    • Play
  • Clear status text:
    • Idle
    • Recording
    • Playing
    • Stopped
  • Show elapsed recording time.
  • Show number of recorded actions.
  • Optional: save/load macros as JSON files.

Technical requirements:

  • Native macOS app.
  • Swift + SwiftUI preferred.
  • Use proper macOS accessibility APIs/event taps for mouse + keyboard recording/playback.
  • Request Accessibility permissions properly on first launch.
  • Architecture should be clean and easy to extend later.

Important:

  • The app should feel safe and controllable at all times.
  • Escape key interruption must always take priority over macro execution.
  • Focus on reliability and simplicity over fancy features.

Optional nice-to-haves:

  • Small floating overlay while recording/playback.
  • Loop playback toggle.
  • Start playback with a hotkey.
  • Show cursor trail or click highlights during recording.
  • Timeline/list of recorded actions for debugging.

Please generate:

  1. Full working Swift project code.
  2. All files completely.
  3. Clear setup instructions.
  4. Any required entitlements or permissions.
  5. Minimal dependencies if possible.

B.S   but here is a hacky fix

Ask AI to code you an app or a script that tracks your mouse movements, then go on Firefox, start recording and then click history sync to tabs and then get it to select each tab just the first one on the list and then have a feature so you can speed up the macro the macro the recording when you play it back so that it's not going at human speed and then just watch it as it keeps on loading new windows and then when you're done there then you could use Onetab or something else to do the export.

@ooooooooooo  you must be kidding. Do you understand that we are talking about very simple functions that were there for years and Mozilla just decided to remove?

Select all, share all, open all... this are just ridiculous simple functions.

yes it's silly isn't it but I want to stick with firefox on android cos it enables extensions
