With some emojis, I do not understand what they represent 😕. It would be helpful if Firefox displayed a tooltip that described an emoji when hovering the mouse pointer over it.

I find myself hovering over emojis hoping that the latest update implemented this behavior. The main problem I'm having is that while text is perfectly readable, emojis scaled to the same height become rather hard to interpret. Normally I'd argue that's poor page design, but in the case of user comments on a social media platform not so much.

A possible fix could also be that the tooltip/hover content is the same emoji, but scaled up a few times. Both a scaled image and text would be best, but I can imagine styling a builtin hoover text like that would take a decent amount of effort to get right for a decent coverage of the available emoji.
