Option to disable side swipe gesture to close a tab

In Firefox Android, I often have multiple tabs open. When I scroll up and down to navigate through the tabs, I sometimes accidentally close a tab. Probably because I was swiping diagonally up. I have a few seconds to click the undo button that pops up.

I've never intentionally used this gesture since I click the x button to close a tab.

Please add an option to disable the side swipe gesture.

Just add the switch OFF function for this. It drives me crazy!

An option to disable this is needed; a "feature" isn't a feature if it inhibits usability.

Made an account specifically for this issue. It happens constantly and has made me use Firefox much less on Android. It's almost a guarantee that I'll accidentally close 1-3 tabs when trying to scroll to a different tab.

Firefox of old would already have a fix. I've started using Brave browser more often, specifically because of this incompetent "feature". In fact, the only reason I'm still on Firefox is because of all the open tabs, but very soon I will sit down and transfer them to Brave. And then I won't look back unless I happen on a mention of a change to this "feature".

Another one here who is annoyed by this "feature". Let's call it a bug because deletion should never be the "easiest" option while interacting with a gui.

+1 to disabling the swipe gesture, or at least making it take a much more significant swipe to work. I close tabs by accident all the time, much more often than I close them intentionally by swiping.

I would also like to be able to hide the "close all tabs" menu item. In general Firefox for Android makes it far too easy to close tabs by mistake.

This is happening constantly to me. You have to be so deliberate and so careful scrolling verticallu and even then any left to right movement at all close tabs. If you scroll and stop to switch to a tab too quickly it will also register that as a swipe and close the tab. It's probably 10-15 times daily I have undo a closed tab. It wasn't like this 6 months ago. It's extremely frustrating.

This is a needed feature and no reason that after over a year since the suggestion was originally posted thay we've heard nothing back on if this will ever be implemented or if this BUG FIX was deemed "too hard" to implement or at least some kind of excuse would be better than 0 contact.

Also idk if this gets approved or not but if this is ever manually looked at by a Mozilla employee: if this is never implemented I hope you're treated exactly how women in your native country are treated. Fix this bad bug.
