Option to ask which profile to open external link

With the updated profile support that's in Nightly, I would love to see an option to have Firefox ask which profile (based on currently open profile windows) to open an external link in. I really want to be able to use two profiles at my work PC to keep all of my work and personal data separate, but it would really ideal for way to be able to select which profile when I open a link from something like Teams.

Since Mozilla is promoting the use of profiles for content segregation (in addition to containers), it would be great if right-clicking a link also offered options to open the link on a specific profile, showing all available profiles (as we can currently do with containers).

The new profiles feature should have a feature like the multi-account container where specific links will always open in a specific profile. EX. Opening canvas will redirect the page to your school profile or opening wells fargo will open your work profile.

To further support my argument, there is already an option to move a tab to a different profile. While this is useful if you later decide to move a tab to a specific profile, if your intention is to directly open it on a different profile, you are forced to first open the link and then move it. There should (also) be an option to open it directly on a different profile.

I am also using two profiles: a work profile and a personal one. Having an option to select where to open a link would make the experience much better.

I made the following comment in this post... repeating a slightly edited version here since this one describes a friendlier UI and I hadn't seen it previously.

The search AIs are suggesting that "Open Link in New Container Tab" might be useful in this situation. But I have different extensions or extension options enabled in different profiles, and since containers within a profile use the same extensions and extension options, that doesn't really fit my need.

For example, I maintain a dozen or so services for a large youth sports non-profit, and I use a separate password manager account to isolate those credentials from my personal account. Using a separate profile for that work perfectly matches the use case for which profiles were designed, and keeping the different profiles logged in to the separate password manager accounts perfectly matches my needs. But I often receive emails on my personal email account, which runs in its own profile. So if I want to follow a link in one of those emails back to the originating site, I need to copy the link, find or open a window in the target profile, paste the link and go. An "Open Link in <Profile>" or "Send Link to <Profile>" context menu option would be a lot simpler.

Similar profile-specific extension issues affect other profiles, all of which run into the same emails-all-go-to-one-profile snag:

• I use NoScript in all my profiles but apply different policies and permit different scripts. Only my financial sites in one, only medical sites in another, only Amazon, only Claude, etc. I regularly use all seven of my profiles.
• I use a user-agent switcher in my development-focused profile that I don't want to think about in others.

The original post suggested confining the available profiles to those with currently-open windows. That would be a big improvement, but my personal preference would be to allow opening the link in any existing profile, whether it has an open window or not.
