Today many devices have not only one ethernet connection, some of them have one ethernet and one wi-fi, and some have two ethernet adapters, so it is good to have to choose in-app through what interface it should work, for example, I have on my PC 2 ethernet adapters and one I use to play games (in most cases it's the main device in windows), the second one I use for qBittorrent (as an example this app gives you to choose the interface to use) or OBS Studio I can choose which interface to use when I play games and games goes to ehter1 (by default) and OBS use ether2, and opportunity to bind to IP or any IP in the chosen interface, look OBS settings or in qBittorrent to more precise to understand what I mean! Why Firefox should work just on the default network device?! It's an amazing option to develop, just think about it!
