With the ability to move tabs currently in nightly it would also be nice to be able to group tabs the same way chrome does.

This is the one feature that has kept me from switching to Firefox Mobile. Tab management and tab switching is harder on a small phone screen than on a desktop, so well-designed tab features are essential. Firefox on mobile feels clunky and awkward to anyone who is used to tab groups in Chrome.

All I'm gonna say is Firefox Mobile still isn't up to par compared to Firefox on PC.

Firefox on PC is great. I want to go all in on the Firefox ecosystem, but missing features in the other Firefox apps, aside from PC, are a huge dealbreaker.

Firefox Mobile lacking a simple but useful feature like tab grouping really solidifies that.

Pls connect the firefox desktop tab-group solution with the firefox mobile collections function and sync them and job is done.

It would work so well if Firefox didn't only just have tab groups on mobile, but if you were also able to sync them with your desktop tab groups and vice versa. Like how for instance you're always able to access your tab groups on desktop by clicking on the downward arrow on the right regardless of if you're on your main PC or not, it's criminal that there isn't any way to do that on mobile. Another thing I've noticed as someone with a lot of tab groups is that when going to the sync tab on the Android app you're clearly able to access all of the tabs you have open on desktop, but they're all just kind of scattered everywhere without any kind of categorization which makes it kind of a mess to navigate. If they were categorized by the tab groups they're in instead, finding the tab you're looking for would be a much more seamless experience.

@Watery_Graves there's another similar request here for the ability to sync tab groups:

Synced WORK SPACES (or Synced Tab Groups)

If you ask yourself why not more people usw ff on mobile, you can See it here.

Must be the Influence of Google on Mozilla, or can you imagine another reason?

After years of using FF on mobile I switched to Chrome-based browsers and the difference is like day and night in termins of productivity. You can group different topics you're reading/searching about and quickly pickup them later. Opening a new link in the same tab group is a breeze. I can't fathom why this is not done already on FF-android.

Reading this thread in 2026 is so disheartening. Is the code written in a way that doesn't allow you to add groups nor fix it, or did you promise your firstborn to a witch and she took the group tabs instead?

Suffice to say, one more voice for this feature.

Strollin' around

Adding on to the thread that this really is the one feature I dearly miss from Chrome and honestly might switch back just for it. Collections is just nowhere near as intuitive on mobile.

This is the main thing that keeps me from using exclusively Firefox. Google has it, safari has it, brave has it, I'm pretty sure almost every browser has it nowadays.

Edge (PC + Android with sync) and Opera on Android also have it. So when I came back to Firefox I was surprised not finding it! 4 years after the proposal, like said previously, it's disheartening it's not implemented yet!
