Mail split-screen depending on fold state

On my foldable phone (Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5) it would be very helpful to have the option to only show the split-screen view for the mails if the phone is unfolded.

Right now there are only options to always/never/in landscape turn split-screen on, so the app is either very stretched on the inner screen or very cramped on the outer screen, depending on the option.

Especially the outer screen is very hard to use. See Screenshot.
