Firefox users often appreciate the convenience of quick access to their frequently visited sites. However, some may prefer a cleaner, more focused home page, A new option in Firefox settings to disable the display of recently visited sites on the home page can be nice

I agree.

the problem is that it starts putting every pop up tab as frequent site instead of sites we visit frequently again and again.

It is not as clean when we freshly download firefox and start browsing without adblock  (all 4 sites from below are pop up tabs…)

You are talking about the Shortcuts feature, which currently mixes two kinds of pages:

  • the ones the user explicitly puts on the list, and
  • the ones added by Firefox from the browsing history.

The idea of separating these two was filed already here. Upvote it. It has 100+ upvotes already.
