Firefox managed to bring HDR to Macs in 100.0 version. Now it's time for Windows!

It'd be awesome to watch and work on HDR images and videos using Firefox in 2022. Windows is the most popular OS, why not bring HDR here too?
More monitors and devices running on Windows support HDR, so there is an increase in demand of HDR support in Firefox.

The only option for Windows users is either to switch to another browser or to download and use a dedicated app from Microsoft Store.

Please add HDR support. I have always seen Firefox as the superior browser and do not want that to change. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Please add HDR. I really want this functionality, which other browsers have.

Really, please add HDR support. I've been using Firefox for almost 20 years and always liked it best but finally, after getting an HDR monitor, this will probably be the one reason making me switch my main browser outside of work.

It's absolutely absurd that HDR support is still lacking, despite countless requests over the years. I switched to Firefox two years ago after being a loyal user for 15 years, specifically because of this issue, and it's still unresolved!

There looks to have been a lot of work on HDR for Linux recently:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1642854

Code to add the Linux preference to about:config has just been committed, so maybe it will be available as an experimental feature in 137?

P.S. Thanks to Martin Strรกnsky who I think is the one working on it.

Still nothing on this? HDR videos, photos and displays are becoming increasingly common, but no Firefox support ๐Ÿ˜ž

I thought I finally switched back to Firefox thanks to Zen browser, but I guess all the migration was useless. It's 2025, get with the time already and add HDR

Unfortunately, I'm about to move to a chrome based browser because of the lack of HDR support in Firefox. This idea was added in 2023 and still no progress...

@CyberSimon

Even worse, it was added in 2022..

Adding my voice to the pile. I've recently started my switch from Chromium browsers to Firefox, but the lack of HDR support in Firefox (alongside a few other missing features) mean I'm keeping Chrome installed for now. HDR support on Windows would be fantastic!

And to everyone saying there isn't a lot of HDR content available or it's just limited to YouTube nature videos, they are completely ignoring all the movies and shows available through paid streaming providers like Amazon, Max, AppleTV, and Paramount+ to name a few. So the supply and demand is there and Firefox has had HDR implemented for MacOS now for over a year (maybe 2 or more) but somehow doesn't feel like it's important for its largest user base in Windows ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

It's been almost three years since this topic was started, and still nothing?

Starting to be quite annoying...
