The handling of spam is one of the most effective advantages of Thunderbird. So having that also on my phone is really an important feature.

I've had Thunderbird on my desktop for as long as I can remember.  Was happy when I could replace Bluemail on my phone with Thunderbird Android, but without the very efficient Spam filtering I get in the desktop version, it's not good.  IMAP accounts are fine, as I can mark them as Spam at the server (and the option is there in Android), but there's no option for POP3 accounts.  They just fill up my inbox and have to be manually deleted.  

Would also like an auto-delete feature that deletes emails are a certain period of time.

There are not currently plans to add spam processing to the mobile application.  But I see there are several standalone apps, some of which run on phone, for example SpamDrain, Cleanfox / Clean Email, MailWasher, Inbox Zapper, SaneBox.

I know that there are some other solutions like separate apps that do this, but it would be so nice if I could just use Thunderbird and it had this feature built in.
