Firefox Split View UX suggestion: use a single close button 'X' in tab overview

Really liking the new Split View feature on desktop — thanks for building it.

One small UX issue I’ve noticed as a new user: when Split View is open, I sometimes click one of the two “X” buttons by mistake when I only meant to select the tab.

Since the two split tabs often belong to the same task/context, it might make sense to treat them as a single unit in the general tab view.

Suggestion

• Show only one “X” for Split View in the normal tab bar/overview

Possible compromise

• Show one “X” when viewing it from another tab
• Keep two “X” buttons when the user is actively inside Split View

This could reduce accidental closes while still keeping per-pane controls when needed.
