Hello Mozilla Team,

I would like to request a feature for Firefox for Android that allows users to save plain-text web content directly as a .txt file instead of only having the option to save the page as a PDF.

An important use case is webmail. Some email providers offer a “View Raw Message” option that displays the complete original email source, including full headers, routing information, MIME information, and the message body.

Firefox for Android currently does not provide a straightforward way to save this displayed raw message directly as a plain-text .txt file. Saving it as a PDF is not equivalent because a PDF is a rendered document rather than the original plain-text message source.

This is particularly important for users who investigate and report spam, phishing, and other email abuse. Services such as SpamCop and abuse-reporting teams may require the complete original raw message, including headers and body, for analysis.

Suggested feature:

Please add an option such as “Save as text (.txt)” or “Download page as text” to Firefox for Android when viewing plain-text content.

Ideally, the resulting .txt file should preserve the displayed raw text exactly, including line breaks and the complete email headers and body, without rendering or converting the content to PDF.

This feature could also be useful beyond email for saving logs, diagnostic information, source output, and other plain-text web content.

Providing a native way to preserve plain-text content would allow Firefox for Android users to perform security, troubleshooting, spam-reporting, research, and other technical workflows without needing to switch browsers.

Thank you for considering this feature.
