Enhance Split View with Multi-Tab Layouts and Group Navigation

I would like to propose expanding Firefox Split View into a more powerful workspace feature.

Multi-Tab Tiling

Currently, Split View is limited to two tabs. It would be extremely useful to support three or more tiled tabs within the same window, similar to the tiling features available in browsers such as Vivaldi or Zen Browser.

Possible layouts could include:

• Three vertical panels
• Three horizontal panels
• A 2×2 grid (four tabs)
• Custom layouts with adjustable panel sizes
• Quick presets for common arrangements

This would be especially helpful for research, programming, documentation, comparisons, studying, and multitasking workflows.

Treat Tiled Tabs as a Single "Multi-Tab"

I would also like an option to treat a tiled workspace as a single unit during tab navigation.

For example:

Current behavior:

• Tab A
• Tab B (left side of Split View)
• Tab C (right side of Split View)
• Tab D

Pressing Ctrl+Tab cycles through A → B → C → D.

Proposed optional behavior:

• Tab A
• Multi-Tab (B + C)
• Tab D

Pressing Ctrl+Tab would cycle through A → Multi-Tab → D, skipping the internal tabs of the tiled workspace.

Users could still switch between the panels inside the Multi-Tab using a dedicated shortcut, mouse click, or another navigation command.

Why This Matters

As Firefox continues developing Split View, it would be great to evolve it into a complete workspace solution rather than just a two-tab layout.

Combining:

1. Support for 3+ tiled tabs.
2. A "Multi-Tab" or "Tab Group Workspace" concept.
3. Optional group-based Ctrl+Tab navigation.

would make Firefox significantly more powerful for productivity users while keeping the current behavior available for those who prefer it.
