Hello!
First of all, thank you for Firefox, it really is a great browser.
Firefox recently released its new design: Nova. This new interface gives Firefox a fresh new look. Many people like it (including me), but there are also many who don’t (due to tab size, tab shapes, colors, etc.).
Some are demanding a return to the old design, while others are asking for options in about:config to customize these elements.
I would like to suggest something else.
In fact, Firefox has something that other browsers don’t have: userchrome.css.
This file literally lets you customize the Firefox interface however you like. I think it’s a shame that it isn’t used enough.
Some might think CSS is easy to learn, but I believe that for the average person, finding the right line to edit with the correct value can be confusing.
That’s why I’m proposing a new tab called about:userchrome. That way, you can make all these changes graphically.
This tab would be separate from the standard settings page so as not to clutter it. It would be the place to customize the interface.
You could then define the appearance of the tabs (tab radius, minimum tab width, color, etc.), change the positioning of elements (tab bar above/below the URL bar, vertical tabs on the right/left, etc.), and adjust a whole host of other settings.
That way, everyone can customize their interface however they want, and everyone is happy.
Again, thank you for developing Firefox 🙂
