Please add the option to display subfolders in a collapsable tree structure like on the desktop:

inbox
    subfolder1
    subfolder2
    ...

instead of displaying all folder paths in a list like it is currently done:

inbox
inbox/subfolder1
inbox/subfolder2
...

This would add greatly to the ease of use and simplicity of the ui.

Please, add to this idea a little searchbar applied to the folders name !!! It would allow us to find (in only few second) the folder we want... it will be THE perfect combination to navigate in thunderbird. Thanks 😊

YES PLEASE

The sooner the better; makes moving between Tablet and Desktop  much less mentally challenging

Yes, all improvements in folders management would be great 😍. For me, a more intuitive acces to folders through a tree structure would not exclude a direct acces by name/label (see my post about that complementary idea https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/multifunction-search-folders/idi-p/95459)

Without a usable folder tree display Thunderbird for Android is unusable for me.

So Thunderbird Mobile is now showing my IMAP folders correctly, as cascading subfolders.  What has changed?  I've moved to a different IMAP server which uses / instead of . as the namespace separator.  So it seems like there's a bug in the "Incoming server settings > Auto-detect IMAP namespace" option which doesn't work out correctly what the separator is (as defined in the IMAP NAMESPACE command).

As if version 16.1 of Thunderbird for Android, the list of folders in the left bar, under the email account is a collapsible tree structure, so the feature has been implemented, and thanks for that.

However, only 3 levels of subfolders are collapsible i.e. folder/subfolder/sub subfolder

Although I understand that it could be difficult to read in such a narrow window, depending on the length of the subfolder names, a 4th level would be (very) nice to have.

However, and more importantly, the tree structure does not exist when working with:

- manage folders

- move email

and possibly other features

The latter is where it is really painful, I use move a lot, either when reading an email, or when cleaning my inbox.

As the tree structure code is already implemented in the left bar, that should not be too difficult to implement it in other parts

@Devs : Would it be possible ?

[Reposting comment as it seems to have disappeared (or I did something wrong)]

So as of version 16.1 of Thunderbird for Android, we now have a collapsible folder tree in the left bar, under the account name.

But there are only 3 levels expandables (folder/subfolder/subsubfolder), 4 or more would be very nice to have, although I understand the limits of the size of the frame on a smartphone depending on the length of folder names.

More importantly, the folder list in "Manage Folders" and in "Move" are still flat lists.

As the code for collapsible tree is already implemented, would it be possible to have it in the other folder lists of the app?

It seems to me this wouldn't be very difficult.
