Display Subfolders in tree structure (like on thunderbird for desktop)

Please add the option to display subfolders in a collapsable tree structure like on the desktop:

inbox
    subfolder1
    subfolder2
    ...

instead of displaying all folder paths in a list like it is currently done:

inbox
inbox/subfolder1
inbox/subfolder2
...

This would add greatly to the ease of use and simplicity of the ui.

Oh, Yes!  It's so darned irritating as it is.  It would be even better if we could collapse them and just see Inbox unless we tap it.

I support this 100%. I had hoped so much TB for A would change the horrible flat structure in K9, really the only thing I disliked in K9. What a disappointment for it to be still there.

Thunderbird Android - Tree Folder Structure

I have been using Thunderbird for many years but have recently started using Thunderbird on the Android.

I am really not a fan of the way folders are displayed within the application.

Inbox/Folder-1/Folder-2

Would like to see this improved to display folders in a tree format style.

I have many folders, it is very awkward and tedious to use without a collapsible folder tree.

Thunderbird for Android 8.1 on Android 15 on Pixel 9 Pro XL

The Folders List that is displayed when you tap the hamburger icon is one very long linear list.  All folders and their sub-folders and even their sub-folders, continuing on down the folder hierarchy - are listed in one very long list.

This might not appear to be a big problem when you have only a few folders, but I have a lot of them.  It's very difficult to find and select the folder I want to open.

Thunderbird for Windows (and for all desktops, I imagine) lists folders in a hierarchical tree structure.  You can open or close a folder to see or not see it's sub-folders.  I would like to see this implemented in Thunderbird for Android.

With my IMAP account they are displayed as

folder.subfolder.subsubfolder

which is even more confusing, so tree view would be great!

Yes, agree with all people on the folder structure. Only installed Thunderbird for android because it said to takeover settings and passwords. however the folder structure makes it unusable for me with litrally hundreds of folders. Therefor unfortunatelly have to stick with the stock android mail on Samsung S23 ultra... Quite a pitty as I like Thunderbird on Mac verry much. Structure should be 1:1.

Does anyone know where to set the inbox structure in a way that all deleted mails are gathered unde one Trash bin so you don't have to empty each trash bind individually in the Mac Version?
