It would be great to have an option to turn off the badge that shows which profile is currently active. With “badge,” I mean the small overlay icon that appears on the app icon in the taskbar!
I just wanted to follow up on my last comment and say the avatar is gone after I deleted my second profile and restarted the app. I didn't think that would work, because there didn't seem to be any option to turn it off—and it didn't seem to work initially for some reason—but it's gone now. If I can turn it off that makes my concerns go away, but it would still be nice to have a clear way to toggle it off at least when someone only has one profile, because it wasn't at all clear there was any way to remove it.
Same here as ernest314: main profile for most of my browsing and then a separate profile for security/privacy/isolation (second accounts don't play nice with domains bound to Containers). I also ended up using the custom 1x1 transparent pixel hack, but "none" should just be a built-in option.
I'm with the others commenting here. I don't like seeing it, seldom use more than one profile, and can easily tell which profile I'm in if I do use a second one. Allow it to be turned off.
The transparent pixel gif hack won't even work for me, when I upload it it goes to a 'crop' tool with 'save' and 'cancel' buttons... but 'save' doesn't seem to do anything.
I only use one profile, so I don't need a profile-icon. This is rather annoying, as it appears more of a notification icon - and I have already enough of these... please, get rid of them if people only use one profile!
The one transparent pixel hack didn't work for me either, so I made a larger transparent png and that worked. <--- The png is right there if you need it.
The overlay icon is hideous and obnoxious, and stays there all the time! Please get rid of it: 1) when Fx is closed, 2) when only 1 profile is open, and 3) with the option to turn it off entirely.
