Develop a version of Firefox built for gaming

Develop a version of Firefox that functions identically to release Firefox, but with additional features similar to those found in Opera GX e.g. a CPU/RAM limiter, a dedicated gaming news section, bookmarks to sites like Twitch/YT/Discord, and a music player.

That sounds like a really interesting idea! Having a Firefox version optimized for gaming could be great for gamers who want a smooth browsing experience without sacrificing system performance. I hope this gets made! The only reason I stopped using Firefox is because Opera GX offers the gamer experience. I do love Firefox so much though but please make this happen!

A Firefox version with the same core experience as release Firefox, but with optional gaming-focused tools like CPU/RAM controls, quick links to Twitch, YouTube, and Discord, plus a built-in music panel, could appeal to a lot of users. The key would be keeping it lightweight and optional so it still feels like Firefox, not a completely different browser. A “game mode” that users can turn on or off would probably be the best approach . I can also make it more formal, shorter, or more persuasive.

gaming-focused version of Firefox would be a game-changer for the browser-based gaming community. Currently, memory management is the biggest hurdle when running high-performance HTML5 games. I’ve been testing several titles on classroom6x recently, and while Firefox handles the physics engines well, a dedicated 'Gaming Mode' that limits background RAM usage would make the experience much smoother on lower-end hardware like school Chromebooks.

Even features like a built-in 'Performance Monitor' or optimized GPU acceleration for WebGL would put Firefox ahead of Chrome for enthusiasts. Really hoping to see this idea move forward!

I agree that creating a separate Firefox browser may not be necessary when enhancing the existing one could deliver more value. Features like RAM and CPU usage limiters, similar to Opera GX, would help users optimise performance without switching browsers. Faster loading, smoother multitasking, and better resource management would definitely improve the browsing experience.
