Status: New idea

A feature that allows you to add whatever you want to the new sidebar. The possibilities are endless - you could even have apps like calendar, notes, weather sort of like Vivaldi, or a second place to display bookmarks of your choice.

I think the "app idea" is the most useful though - so you can just click right on an icon and bring up an "app" instead of visiting the website. you can maybe add your own apps but then there are also a few "built in apps" with their own custom loading animation and everything, for the same seamless experience you get when opening an app on a smartphone.

Just an idea I think would be cool and useful!

Strollin' around

In trying to get away from the creature that is google I was looking for a new browser and tried OperaGS first before coming back to Firefox after many years. I did like the fully customizable sidebar in OperaGS, a great feature to be sure.

For now, I like the sidebar customization of the zen browser. Please improve the customization of the sidebar, just like the customization of the toolbar!

The idea of sidebar customization of the sidebar is user friendly; an earlier request also said ability to edit, but mostly the arrangement order; another request was for a second sidebar on opposite margin, and yet another request is for retaining both a top horizontal and the Firefox innovation of the sidebar as in demo. What I see here is a lot of users, including me, seem to be wanting all favorites near at hand, and either the top horizontal or sidebars on either side separately not being enough or being a burden on memory for with either of these individually. I am excited seeing the way the Firefox sidebar's designed - collapsing to provide bigger screen area when sidebar's is not in use, & comparison with Edge's sidebar - the way you see the previews!! The desire(s) do(es) seem convenient - and I'd be most happy to see all 3 bars available!!! ๐Ÿ˜… but then, what of the users at large? - may be a majority may not be keen to have so many tabs being made available!! Most may never get to be using all 3 bars, or edit or customization facility!! Well - maybe there could be one bar built in, with user having option to place it on top or either side, and remaining 2 available on demand if the user thinks s/he'll need 1, 2 &/or 3!! with edit/customization too being a facility but needing to be invoked!!

Another thing I would want to share with users who may be reading these messages - Firefox may want to place some of their own items as tabs (e.g., "Tab action menu" & "+" for new tab, Copilot, etc. ) in a spot convenient to them - so editing/customization may need to be limited. Here, my thought would be Firefox places their mandatory tabs wherever the wish to with it automatically switching positions if users invokes bar(s) of own choice!!

(In a separate request I think I submitted to new ideas today wanting to be provided a "read aloud" icon near where Firefox places their AI icon. Wonder if that got submitted!!)
