Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

This is coming to Linux?  That is massive news!

Will this be available across all desktop environments?

I don't know if this is the right place to put this feedback but I really think this needs to go back to the drawing board. The way Chromium does it is perfect. Firefox's Taskbar Tabs are poorly done. The "Taskbar Tabs" language is confusing, the insistence on preserving some amount of browser chrome is irritating, the integration is incomplete (offline service workers don't seem to be fully working for starters), and the UI in the address bar is not responsive to whether a site is actually serving a PWA manifest, it just sticks an install button on every webpage. This "reimagining" of what is supposed to be a universal web platform feature that works a certain way is bad and not currently usable for what I need it for.

Primary use case: Ebook reader PWA with an offline service worker. I need an install button that properly responds to the presence of a PWA manifest, allows the offline features to work consistently as if it were a locally installed app, and works with my dictionary extensions, with no distracting browserchrome. The lack of feeling like I am in Firefox is an anti-distraction feature akin to how Notepad doesn't open itself as a tab in your browser (I know that is not possible, I mean from a UX point-of-view)
