(ThunderBird)

With the recent change of putting new messages in a nested 'thread', new messages are still bold; But because it is now nested, one doesn't know if there is a new message at a glance like before.(The new bold messages are now hidden because they are nested.)

In the support forum about this situation the only solution  involves creating css files and such.
I thought I may have missed some settings feature.
So the people over there said come here to make new idea suggestion.
But it's kind of an old idea that used to be done but got 'removed' to make way for the nested feature.

Could thunderbird not make some adjustment and just highlight the top visible message as bold if there is a new message within it's thread?

I agree with this request.

The 'underline' if thread contains new mail does not look pretty/tidy and it's not instantly easily noticable when you need something that instantly grabs your attention to where the new mail is located.

Bold would help.

But could also use the same idea as is used in the Folder Pane.  Changing top thread to blue in the same way a folder name turns blue if new mail.

I had already posted a comment but for some reason it's not been added in my view.

I support this idea.

Make a collapsed top level thread use Bold font OR use blue font in the same way that if a folder has new unread mail it displays blue font for folder name.
