Now that Split View is available, it would be great to have the option to right-click a link and choose "Open in Split View Panel" — similar to how "Open in New Tab" works. This would let the link load in the right-side panel without having to manually go through the tab list.

This would make Split View much more useful for research and browsing, where you want to keep your main page on the left and explore links on the right without interrupting your flow.

My build on this would be:

  1. If there's no split view, then "Open Link in Split View" appears as it does today (I'm running Firefox 150).
  2. If there is an existing split view, then right clicking in the left panel presents an option to open the link in the right panel, and visa versa.

This would support my primary use case for the Split View feature, which is where one Panel is my "primary" view, and the opposing split view is a place where I can check out links from the primary view.

It's also what Chromium does, for what that's worth.
