Improve bookmark menus, tab groups, email autofill

MrAZ
Making moves

Firefox currently has three usability issues compared to Edge/Chrome that slow workflow and efficiency:

  1. Bookmark folder popup closes after a single click

    • Currently, when clicking a bookmark in a folder, the menu closes immediately.

    • Suggestion: Add an option to keep the folder menu open until manually closed, so users can open multiple bookmarks from the same folder without reopening it each time.

  2. No option to open a bookmark folder directly into a tab group

    • Users often organize bookmarks into sets (e.g., Web).

    • Edge/Chrome allow opening a folder directly into a group of tabs; Firefox requires manually moving tabs into a group or add-on.

    • Suggestion: Add a native option to open a folder into a new tab group or isolated set of tabs.

  3. Autofill does not aggressively fill email fields

    • Firefox only auto-fills fields that are properly labeled, unlike Edge/Chrome which can recognize email inputs more reliably.

    • Suggestion: Improve autofill to allow filling the same email across sites even if the field markup isn’t perfect, or provide an option for “aggressive autofill” similar to Edge/Chrome behavior.

Impact:
These changes would significantly improve user workflow, especially for power users who manage multiple projects and use repetitive logins. They reduce friction, tab clutter, and manual repetition.

Optional: Include that these three improvements together make Firefox competitive with other modern browsers in efficiency and usability.
