Hi,

Firefox 145.0 (64 bit) has lost its (-) minimize, ([]) maximize and (X) close options which makes it completely unusable. Why?

Hi,

Thanks for your help. The F11 trick did work. I know Firefox updated recently (v 145.0 64-bit) and that seemed to cause the top r/h icons to "disappear". I sometimes use Nortons program updater feature which is what I did when this happened. I'll stick to updating stuff properly! Jules 🙂

Try pressing F11 2-3 times.

Can you reinstall/refresh Firefox? And see if that fixes it?

That most likely won't fix it.

Nothing hurts trying.

It's not your or Norton's fault - just another bug. You'll have to do the fix every time you restart until the bug is fixed.

Hi All

although I marked the F11 as a solution, I think I should have described it as a temporary fix. I have uninstalled 145.0. Then I went through and weeded out all the bits that related to Firefox manually. I obviously missed something somewhere as on a fresh download and install it wanted to reinstall it (so not a fresh install) as it detected that Firefox had been installed before. The first attempt failed. The second attempt succeeded but the problem still exists (F11 fix). I think you are right in suggesting this might be a bug.

These are the extensions/plugins I use to give a better explanation of the configuration.

Many thanks for your help & ideas

It IS a bug, as mentioned by Agentvirtuel way above 🙂

Thank you,

I now know its a bug. Unfortunately, due to a combination of ADHD, OCD and complex PTSD, I have to let my brain through its course of my non-standard thought processes so I that am happy that I have proved it myself. It is not denigrating  to those who (most of whom are far better qualified than me) have identified the bug. I submitted further information in case there was something else awry that I had missed. I had hoped my additional input might help. Based on parts of my experience, I don't think I shall use this (undoubtedly useful) forum any more. Thank you for all your responses and I wish you all well,

Jules
