Okay so say your default search engine is DDG bcuz your like privacy and want to patronize that. And it's lovely. But for some specific phrases, you know that Google will hook it up way better. So:
- open a new tab
- write your search term/phrase
- click/tap that drop down menu and click/tap on what you want to use to search this time
- click the bar where you type stuff (address bar). press enter.
Why is the 4th step necessary? I've tried to think and it came to me that it's possible some people first click the alternate search engine, then write stuff? Y'all do this? It honestly would not cross my mind if not for the exercise. Because when you Shift + Ctrl +T you are physically typing so it makes sense to keep doing that, then switch to the the mouse and click on stuff...rather than switch to the mouse, then keep editing or whatever.
Am I just lazy? It's an extra click. But kind of an unnecessary one maybe? (it's like this on the Android version as well) Anyway...lemme know heh.

maybe check out using DDG's bangs feature; for example, if DDG is the default search engine then to override that for a quick search using google, just use the !g directive ahead of the search term in the URL dialog; for example, to search for Sasquatch with Google you'd just type !g Sasquatch as the URL
