what use is firefox view?

new firefox update introduced firefox view. cool. i just lost over 1000 open tabs. clicking on "recently opened windows" is unresponsive. firefox view tells me "you'll never lose another closed tab again." list is empty though. how is the most common browser issue ever still not fixed in 2022?

note that i have the "restore previous session upon startup" option ticked. it just didn't restore it. it didn't happen the first time, and google tells us i am not the only one. i don't need help to retrieve my lost data, i am wondering why in 2022 we are blessed with firefox view but still not with a solution to a very simple and common problem.
