On Google Pixel devices in the EU, you are able to select which Search provider to use in the built in Search bar at the bottom of your home screen. Firefox is not selectable as an option in these settings, even though it already has a perfectly fine Search bar already made in the form of a widget. I cannot imagine it being particularly difficult to implement this, but it would be something i would love to be able to use.

Firefox is not a search engine. A search engine is a website in which you perform searches and get results.
Firefox is an application (web browser) that provides you access to the internet. It does provide integration with search engines, so that you can search from the address bar, search widget and other places.
However, because the built-in search bar is Google's, it goes to Google's Chrome web browser application, which by default shows results from the Google search engine - a web site.

Thank you for replying!
I understand that Firefox is not a search engine, in the same way that brave browser for example also isnt a search engine, yet i can pick the brave browser as an alternative in this list and use it to swap out the built in searchbar from my home screen (this still works while NOT using the brave search engine, as it can be changed in the brave settings)
I dont see why this also cant be the case for firefox? Having multiple Search bars on my home screen seems like a waste, and multiple other browsers (not search engines) have already integrated their own search bars as options in this list, but not firefox.
Just to be perfectly clear, i am talking about the EU exclusive setting to replace the built in Google Search bar on Pixel phones. Here is a link to a Google support page about this specific setting: link
