After investigating what I thought was a memory leak in Ubuntu 24.04.LTS, I found my 3 window / 20 tab FF process consuming ~60GB of RAM (via htop). Shockingly, the setting:
browser.ml.maximumMemoryPressure
has a DEFAULT setting of 80, which I understand to mean "use 80% of available ram before cleaning up anything". After decreasing this to 30, my memory usage is normal and I can leave the computer on for multiple days without rebooting.
I look forward to an edifying discussion about why this setting is so high and why I'm wrong to think it too high.
Thanks in advance

I also do NOT understand why this setting needed tweaking at all since I have experiments and studies disabled.
