Trouble with ads

So every time I click on the search bar on a website I've accessed through Firefox it takes me to ads that I cannot get out of. What am I doing wrong

This is typically due to third-party software that has somehow been installed on you machine, typically called adware. Try using a product like Malwarebytes to remove it.
