Thunderbird Nebula - mail searching did not work well

Hey guys and girls,

i updated my thunderbird some weeks ago to current nebula version 128.5.2esr (64-Bit). Since this update my mail searching funktion did not works well. Many mails will not found, but if i log into the website of mail provider, i can find the mail easily.

I use my Thunderbird with 5 Mail accounts and all accounts in IMAP mode. The settings are configured to "sync all folders".

This failure is to repair soon, because searching funktion is very importent for me.

Can anyone confirm this issue or tell me what I should do to find all the emails I'm looking for?

I have exactly the same issue. For the last 2 weeks the search function just has not worked. No matter what I type in I get either 0 results or 1 result. That is so even I search for emails with (say) "the" in them!

I have repeatedly tried rebuilding the global database as has been suggested on other threads. It seems to hang at a different point every time - sometimes part way through indexing the inbox, sometimes the sent box, sometimes the local folders.

If I cannot search my emails I will have to reluctantly move to a different client.

Has anyone got any suggestions?
