Thunderbird Junk Mail settings going haywire

Or what about non-junk, even after removing the "junk" status, keeps going back to junk. Over and over. The only way to stop it, is to move the "junk" email into another folder and deal with it. Can this be fixed? This only happened after a couple of updates recently.
