The sidebar that shows the browsing history is a very convenient tool. However, now, after closing the window, the option is reset to the bookmarks bar. You have to select the browsing history again, which is very inconvenient.
Previously, after selecting the browsing history, this option was remembered and when calling the sidebar, the history was always shown. This option was not reset after closing the browser.

That's a bug which I believe is fixed and will land soon.

Having the same issue here as well, looks like it's been a known issue for some since at least last autumn.

The bug I referenced is fixed in v138. If it still doesn't work for you, file a new bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi/).

I very much still have the same issue. Ctrl H always brings up the history sidebar. but persistence of your preference (bookmark vs history) used to save from session to session, and I read that it no longer does, intentionally. This is a major step backwards, and as such I've dropped the sidebar completely, will just use the hotkey shortcuts going forward.
