Suggestions for SplitView

I would like to see improved link handling in Firefox Split View.

Currently, Split View is useful for displaying two tabs side by side, but it would be much more useful as a workspace if links could be opened directly in a specific pane.

For example, I would like to have options such as:

• “Open Link in Right Pane”

• “Open Link in Left Pane”

• An option to make links clicked in one pane open in the other pane

• Keyboard shortcuts or Ctrl-click behavior for opening links in a specific pane

• The ability to keep one pane as a “source” or “search” pane while continuously opening links in the other pane

For example, I could keep search results or reference material on the left and open the selected links on the right, without having to manually select or rearrange tabs each time.

I think this would make Split View feel less like simply displaying two tabs side by side and more like a proper two-pane browsing workspace.

I hope Mozilla will consider improving link handling and navigation within Split View in a future update.

and also an option to get that option out of my right click menu entirely, because I literally never have and literally never will intentionally use it, and have only clicked on it accidentally because it's in the exact space "open in new tab" used to be, and then i have the flounder to get it out of that state. It's really really annoying when it's easy to accidentally do something and much more involved to purposefully undo it, which seems to be what mozilla is now intentionally designing all aspects of their browser to do.
