Since last update ( actually dont know since i do not update every version)   , sound  is  messed up in some movies and youtube: The  music is twice the amount of speech so unwatchable if both are same time ( not all but that does not happen ion other browser like that)  . Also notifications and other sounds  do become inaudible in those sistuations  .
What is changed and how can i change it back? ( it was a forced update cause primevideo did not allow me the playback otherwise , but now with firefox is terrible ). Ty!

Hi there,

Yeah, I noticed that too — ever since the last update, the sound balance on some videos feels totally off. Music and background effects overpower the dialogue, especially on sites like YouTube, while other browsers play them just fine. It’s weird because even system or app notification sounds become super faint when that happens. Definitely seems like something changed in the app’s audio handling!

Bundle of Thanks!

Hello,

Yeah, I saw that as well — since the last update, the audio balance on certain videos seems completely wrong. Especially on platforms such as YouTube, music and background effects drown out the dialogue, whereas other browsers do not have this issue. It’s strange, as even sounds from system or app notifications are reduced to a whisper at those times. It certainly seems that there has been a change in the way the app manages audio!

Many Thanks!

Hey Mozilla Community,

Since the last update (not sure exactly which one, as I don’t update every version), the audio balance seems broken in Firefox: in some YouTube videos and movies the background music is much louder than dialogue, making them almost unwatchable when both play together, and system notifications or other sounds also become very quiet or inaudible during this. This doesn’t happen in other browsers, so it feels update-related. What changed in the audio handling, and is there a way to revert or fix it? I was forced to update because Prime Video wouldn’t play otherwise, but the result has made Firefox pretty terrible for media. Given this, I’ve even been pushed to rely more on alternative viewing options, like free streaming apps or online platforms to watch live TV channels, and I’d strongly recommend checking out options such as downloading TV Garden on Windows PC as a workaround until the browser audio issues are properly resolved.

Thanks a lot!!

I noticed the bug as well. The video sound stutters a lot on YouTube

better you report the bugs then. I usedmy audiocard to compress everything and somehow it solves , but using old windows 7 for that one .
Guess is something sdependant on "audio " stramings. In fact there is not usually only 1 audio but the pc "mixes them" .I 've noticed with the audiocard and "asio" channels :
1 channel has music ( with little reverbered voices/ dialogues)   and the other has voices  .
So Firefiox somehow i believe  do mix them using some compression ( rising what we do not want) or  do not interpret them well.
But is just a guess
