I went into discussion, it's auto sorted by "most recent" but once I finally scroll past the twenty pinned posts (some of which should not still be pinned like the post about the world cup widget) the next three posts were posted in 2024, 2025, and 2024, all of them had recent comments- only one of which was from a real person.
So the posts first accessible by users are more often going to be the posts that are full of spam bots commenting completely unrelated to the post. all those spam bot comments contain active links, which is something mozilla does have the power to address. Manually approve comments with links, don't just let them be made. and don't use comments as the metric for a "most recent" post or make "most recent comment" and "most recent post" different categories so this can be avoided.
