Making moves

I want a browser that is secure and respects my privacy and my independence. For this reason, I'd like to ask that Firefox stop forcing new features on users, and making us look around for ways to disable them and undo changes made after every upgrade.

For instance, I hate the AI features. To me, AI is bloatware. It wastes resources and I find it annoying. I also don't like having my interface re-arranged. Anything that automatically rearranges tabs, changes how things look, forces me to interact with it in ways I didn't initiate, that stores things I didn't want stored (like usernames, for instance), drives me nuts.

I understand that some people like these things.

My suggestion, in fact my PLEA, is that instead of defaulting new features into use and then making users spend time trying to undo or disable them, that you make these bells and whistles into "opt in" rather than defaults that users need to find ways to opt out of.

For a while I stopped using Firefox altogether because of these constant "updates" that I found intrusive and annoying.

Stick to security and privacy and you will be my default. As of now, though, I find it a chore to use Firefox and deal with the constant changes and now the resource-hogging, noisy AI stuff and resource-hogging extras, and have been using Firefox less and less because of it.
