Shocked by new version at the first glance

Making moves

I changed a phone and then needed to install every app new. Then after installing Firefox android, I'm shocked by the new interface/UI, which is so inconvenient and lacks many functions. The homepage is nonsense, the menu requires one more step to reach plug-ins. I would probably abandon Firefox if I haven't find out that it's the "research/study" in the data collection column of settings that has made all of these frustrating changes. This option is to "try the most fashionable functions", but only gives worse experience? Why is this option automatically turned on when some one installs the browser newly on a device?
