2 - Enter a search term browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar
You can click the Toggle button.

now in Version 148 it's not possible to change back. Every search is given to URLbar.

this totaly annoying. right now starting search for alternativ Browser.

Please let us decide how to search the web. I hate searching in the URLbar
