Did you mean:

"Restart to Keep Using Firefox" Are you KIDDING ME?

Tried to open a new tab, and got hit with a fullscreen page that said

------------

Restart to Keep Using Firefox

An update to Firefox started in the background. You'll need to restart to finish the update. Your windows and tabs will be quickly restored, but private ones will not.

-------------

ARE YOU ACTUALLY KIDDING ME? I cant open any new links, I cant use my browser, i wasnt asked if this was a good time for this to happen.

I HAD AN IMPORTANT WORKSPACE RUNNING through Google Gemini with activity turned OFF, meaning if I refresh my page ITS ALL GONE. I WASNT PLANNING ON CLOSING MY BROWSER ANYTIME SOON.

Now I cant open any new links, I cant research anything, i cant backup this entire conversation, or any data Online, AND IM GOING TO LOSE THIS ENTIRE WORKSPACE WITH SEVERAL HUNDRED PAGES OF CODE. I've NEVER been this pissed at Mozilla before.

One more reason to stop using FireFox. They are copying Microsoft, which slows down laptops when it wants to force you to install OS update.

It is happening every week now. I chose "Let me decide" - in settings. Firefox ignored this and pushed restart. I disabled update staging and background downloads. Firefox ignored this and pushed restart. I DO NOT WANT TO RESTART FIREFOX RIGHT NOW. WHAT IS YOUR F-ING MENTAL ILLNESS, FIREFOX TEAM!?  What kind of parasite on your team is pushing for this to happen? You do not own the Firefox deployment on the user's machine. And you don't get to dictate user behavior. This is unacceptable.
