No forced functionality, new features etc. offer them, sure, force them, never.
More transparency, as per a few posts here, maybe a News tab under Help, a news or notice icon in title bar, be honest, open.
Collaborate with/survey/ask the Users before the frontend development team, if the Users don't want it don't develop it.
Extend this policy, mind-set, methodology to every aspect of the business model across all of Mozzila, improve the above, repeat.
