Firefox View is not a tab per sey ,but will act like one. The fact that one cannot get back to it in this way might allow one to accidentally lose a tab.
You can open Firefox view, and then drag a link into the window. Unlike typing in the location bar, this will open a site directly in that view, under the Firefox View area, not in a new tab. If one moves away from the this view, and tries to go back. They are taken back to Firefox View. My opinion that when a link is dropped into this view, a new tab should be created like typing in the address bar.
